Season's Greetin's from the Gallery of Black Purples and Turbo-glo Trilobites!

Well, 2004 is just about all used up (or is already spent and there ain't nothin' left but some stains, depending on when you're readin' this mess) and I figured it was time for a recap. Thanks to everybody out there in late-nite compyland for taking the time to drop by and seeing what I've been up to art-wise. Lots of excellent response to the site so far, and a very special thanks/shout out is due to Misha for taking the time to kick my butt and get this thing up and running.

Made it into/onto 4 books this year:

Art of Modern Rock! This massive coffee table-size tome from Chronicle Books has a few of my vintage gig posters contained within, along with hundreds of other relative unknowns (outside of their respective regions), and of course, all the regular big name poster greats of the past 15 years that one would come to expect.

Tiki Art Now! from Last Gasp has my, er, tiki-flavoured piece "Nobody Interrupt a Dawn God's Feast" with a whole page to itself.

Just Give'r - A Handguide by Terry and Dean! Mentioned last time, it's finally available. It turned out great and is getting an awesome response from most of the critics (and all of the FUBAR fans). Definitely my favorite project this year.

Action Poetry!
Way back at the other end of the year, I had fun doing the line art for the cover of this cool collection of modern beat poetry from Litkicks out of New York. It came out recently and seems to be doing well.

Anyway, look for loads more stuff to be added in '05, and hope you all have a safe/swell new year!

Happy October to all you visiting Earthniks out there in Internetland!

FINALLY finished all the millions of little drawings for the FUBAR-related book called JUST GIVE'R: A Handguide by Terry and Dean, a weighty tome that should be on the shelves shortly. You can check out the official FUBAR website and perhaps do a pre-order. I had a hand in loads of nastiness contained within: spidery, coffee and Pilsner-addled line drawings guaranteed to drive you to go get hammered, crank up some freakin' Angel Witch and smash up bus shelters. Just so you won't feel left out.
Now to see what other brain cell destruction I can get up to... maybe scan more artwork for this site, which I've been sadly neglecting over the past few months. A thousand pardons.

Oh, and a special shout out to the Pop Tarts for making me Tart of the Month! An honour, indeed. I'm the "Tart of the Month".

Happy Vickie Day!

It's been a while since the last mess of updates, but I've been busy givin' er... on Terry and Dean's Guide to Givin'er, a forthcoming book authored by the FUBAR guys and it's gonna be insane. Loads of little drawings to be contained within. Also did up a logo recently for the Calgary-based positive-punk band KIROS, whose new CD should be in stores shortly. As well, just a steady load of little jorbs have been popping up and keeping me from my true calling, which is probably plundering my vaults and locating more stuff to post here. We have added some stuff to the SPOTS page and the MUSIC page is now all active, with a smallish smattering of some CD/record art. And, on the LINKS page, you can go to gigposters.com and see some of my, er, gig posters spanning the past 18 years or so. Check it out. And give'er.

Greetings Earthlings!

Happy Friday the 13th!

We're just in the ghastly process of adding a big of mess of files, specially culled from the accursed Tom Bagley vaults.
Most of the "fine art gallery" section GALLERY FIZZ is up for your amusement. We do still need to scan and add a few odds and ends, including pieces from the old Nocturnal Eye show (glow-in-the-dark screen prints... but since this is on your compy screen, hell, EVERYTHING glows in the dark around here!).

The COMMERCIAL BIZ section will obviously contain the most files. As it builds up in image count, this will get divided into easier-to-navigate subsections such as little bitty spot drawings, beastly large chunky pieces, as well as some of those messy magic-marker editorial spots as seen in FFWD Magazine. There will also be section containing some of the "genre" illustrations that have appeared over the past couple of years. There's enough crap for the MUSIC RELATED section to warrant its own page, so it will be up and running when we get around to it. Stay tuned.

Keep checking back regularly as the site grows to monstrous out-of-control proportions. Remember to watch this space for news of big projects and weirdness that may be of interest!
